Hello everyone,
Today I would like to give you some information and my experience about the short term ESC project that I’m luckily to be part of.
Within the scope of the Winter Camps project, it provides cultural workshop trainings for primary school students aged 6-8 and 9-11, allowing them to have a good time with various games. We work in pairs and try to keep our creativity at the highest level so that children can explain to their families what they do in a day in a nice way. In cultural presentation I made a map of Turkey, then cut out the certain parts to let them guess which side is where. After doing this, I tried to explain the historical and cultural values of these places and to convey interesting information about the Turkish language. While I was doing all this, the disaster situation that took place in our country recently and affected us deeply had not happened yet. The week it took place, I had a hard time telling the children about the places on the map of Turkey. But still, I somehow explained the reality of this situation to the children. In order to raise awareness of this situation me and my Turkish friends who were here had the opportunity to make many presentations. In the end being able to explain ourselves to many young people with different cultures and different languages is truly an experience that every person should have. It is one of our greatest hopes to act together in this period when we need each other the most. I would like to thank Fundacja CAT and Youth Work Association for letting me to participate in this important project.
