Today I want to share my enlightening experience about the Erasmus+ project that I feel fortunate to be part of called DEMOCRACY & YOUTH PARTICIPATION: VALUES & ACTION!
Democracy is a critical topic and we should raise awareness for the right and correct information about it. With this program, I and my 4 friends along with people from 5 different countries got a better idea of how can we use democracy and what are the tools to execute it accurately
The program of training is designed around 3 main categories – Democratic Values, European Local Democracy, and Inclusive Models of Co-creation with Citizens and Meaningful Youth Participation. The training aims to equip the participants with tools, methods, and approaches that will help them in their work with young people in their local realities. With this, we got the chance of seeing the beautiful atmosphere of Lozen, and thanks to the interactive outside activities we witnessed the process of democracy and how it works. We divided into groups and negotiations about how NGOs, citizens, and the government work as a unit.
It elaborates further on the democratic system and institutions at the local and national levels, provides human rights perspectives, and promotes democratic citizenship, youth participation, and the development of youth civil society. While we’re doing that we got the chance of seeing different points of view, and different beliefs towards this idea. And that helped us to get a better understanding of these tools. I’m happy to say that with this program I now have a better understanding and even better knowledge of democracy.
